It was an amazing day with artists and the public attending the Contemporary Sikh Art Exhibition. Hosted by Gurinder Singh Mann-Two talks took place where artists explained their motivation behind their artworks at the exhibition. The artists included Jyoti Kaur, Navdeep Panesar, Guneit Kaur (Quartrait), Stephen Wilson Barrett, Dharam Singh Taak, Vik Kainth, Rabir Singh (who came from the USA). Jiya Kaur aged 11 was also in attendance.

We had people attend from across the country from places like Cardiff, Birmingham, London. Thanks to RBN, Gurdwara Sahib Northampton for attending and bringing their Punjabi class to the exhibition as well, artist Navdeep Panesar engaged with the younger audiences giving tips for how they can get involved in art.

Many non-Sikhs attended as part of the heritage fair which was well attended. Thanks to John Coster and the Documentary Media Centre for making this happen as well as filming being undertaken by Nottingham Trent University

Another great day put on by the Sikhmuseum Initiative team. The exhibition continues until 30th May 2024.
